It's always good to hear that our government is working hard on the real important issues of the day...

QUOTE
the House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved a resolution Monday asking the FTC to investigate whether Rockstar Games, the Take-Two subsidiary and developer of the Grand Theft Auto franchise, "intentionally deceived" the Entertainment Software Ratings Board to avoid an "adults only" rating on its game.

lol... not sure i'm willing to characterize her that way... but yeah... when fluff like this gets fast tracked through congress simply cause it gets everyone in favor of it votes... you know some shit has gone horribly wrong.

i mean wtf is going on? this is what they know linkz and yet... despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary, they push this bullshit through congress over other more pressing matters of concern?

lol... i love it...

hillary, no matter how much of an ass she is, did not get this passed on her own. ok ok, so she brought it to the floor, but... if you're gonna toss her out, then you may as well toss out the rest of congress who voted yes too... cause last time i checked, it take a 60% majority to pass a bill... and since this bill passed with waaaaaaay over 60%, it looks like it's time to check the guys you like as well as dislike... cause they're all knee deep in this bs.

then vote... that's really all you can do...

if you wanna blame anything, then blame political apathy... and if you wanna put a face to that, grab a mirror and shine it on the us of A. (not saying it's you b, but you get what i mean)

in most countries around the world, people appreciate their right to vote... here... meh... 70% of the eligable voting population doesn't give a shit and does not vote... and worse yet, the remaining 30% has no clue what they're voting for.

to prove my point... name your representatives? who did you elect to the house and senate? who did you elect to represent your districts? lol... most amaricans do not have the faintest clue who their senators are... yet, they have the nerve to bitch and moan about hi-profile "candidates" who actually do things... all the while not recognizing that nobody in america does anything by themselves.... and that they, with their lack of knowlege and appreciation, had just as much to do with said bad senator as everyone else.

the "blame" is spread around equally amounst us all....

democracy in action baby... it's an adversarial process.... it is, for lack of a better phase, a fight.... and i love a good fight.

voter apathy is a big problem here. people complain about people in office... but do nothing about it.

i did not say b or anyone else here had anything to do with it... but facts are facts... americans don't vote, they just bitch and moan about who's in office.

lol... i ain't one to shy away from a good political debate... as long as it doesn't hurt anyone. touchy subject sure... but fuck man... those dickheads in washington are censoring video games... wtf... who else is responsible if not us? we're the guys who sent them there... right?

I always vote, but the sad fact is that Manhatten alone can outvote the rest of the state, and somehow they must get just about every person living in manhatten to get out and vote because they get some huge numbers of voters.

wtf gramma... you buy the kid a game based 100% on criminal activity, which you should have managed to gleen simply from the title alone, which is ok, but ohhhh no... don't let the boy see any titties cause that will corrupt him.. so now you gotta sue.

*sigh*
QUOTE
She sought unspecified damages on behalf of herself and all consumers nationwide, saying the company should give up its profits from the game for what amounted to false advertising, consumer deception and unfair business practices.

yeah... cause you can be a criminal, you just can't bust a nut...

Thats a point that Europeans always think of as very weird in the US. Violence seems to be seen as something totally normal. Parents take their kids to shooting ranges, and violence in computer games or movies doesn't seem to be a reason to restrict media for children. While when there is a bare nipple somewhere, everybody is horror-stricken (see Janet Jackson at the Superbowl). Even "fucks" in TV get beeped and middlefingers pixelated, while its no problem to buy a submachinegun, join a known Nazi organization and run through the woods with SS-uniforms.

Here its pretty much vice versa. For normal people its impossible to buy guns. Computer games with violence can only be sold to people over 18, after strict verification processes (which is also a bit exaggerated. When I want to buy a 18+ game, like GTA, I have to send a copy of my identity card to the shop and they send it to me with a special service, that only I can accept it by showing my identity card to the mailman again). Therefor nobody really cares about nudity or "bad language" (leading to situations that in German TV shows, US celebrities like Eminem, spend their whole appearance with saying only "fuck" and "pussy" for 3 minutes, because they find it so mind-blowing that it doesn't get cencored ... well, he still made a fool of himself).

I think all systems have their flaws, but in the end I would appreciate it more if my children would be protected from heavy violence than from unpixalated middlefingers . Nevertheless the Internet superseded that all anyways ... everything is available there ...

lol... i guess it was spending so much time in europe that warped my good ole american sensibilities.. i blame has!!

but yeah... this latest lawsuit is just about one of the stupidest things i've ever heard of...

i mean really... if the kid has a pc and an internet connection, he prolly already has seen more porn than i could ever hope to. i mean when i was a kid, all i could count on was sneaking dad's penthouses... never could i imagine gigs of pre-release movies.

and where the fuck is good ole gramma's accountability in all this? she accepts none of the blame herself? that just boogles the mind.

grand

theft

auto....

whaa... not enough clues for ya gramma? the game is about..... drum roll... bad guys.

lol... it's ok to kill cops, steal cars, slap women... but just don't fuck them... cause that's bad. lol
