Ok ill give you my system stats first so no one complains. This is a complete custom comp built by myself and ive been building systems since the 8088 so yes I know my computers hardware however im not a huge programming person. I have a 420 watt case with side window and 3 case fans, Asus A7V800 motherboard with AMD XP 2800+ CPU not overclocked, 512 megs DDR ram not overclocked, Radeon 9800SE video card not hard or softmodded as it cant be, Soundblaster Audigy 2, 3com nic and SMC nic, 120 gig SATA hard drive and a 40 gig ATA, 8X8 Pioneer DVD burner, 19" hansol monitor, MS cordless mouse V2.0, Logitech Internet Navigator keyboard, Altec Lansing 251 series 5.1 surround sound speakers. Running Windows XP Professional. Ok with all this out of the way I will say all my drivers are up to date etc etc all windows updates etc etc. This problem occurs both on SP1 and SP2 so thats not an issue and it occurs after a complete format of WinXP Pro SP1 to WinXP Pro SP2.

I install xfire and whenever I use Internet Explorer or Outlook Express and I close them I get memory reference errors in "0X00000000" Memory area cant be "read". This happened on the install I had with SP1 and I couldnt figure it out so I formated the computer and it started right away and only thing different I did during my setup was install xfire and ventrilo. So I removed both programs and installed ventrilo and it worked fine for a day so installed xfire and immediately after I started getting those memory reference errors so uninstalled xfire and they stopped. From my unserstanding its a very weird error because what could it be installing that would cause IE and OE to error and only those programs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time,

Mold[SOW-R]

Man, I just hate it when I dont get all of the information. Could you please tell me what color your case it, j/k.

You said that you had this problem after a clean install does that mean that you did not install a firewall yet?
Also did xfire update since I see that they had a memory issue that was resolve back with version 18.
