Total n00b here to BF:V and am looking for some help. Dev has somewhat talked me into playing the game and I want to run my own server for a bit to get the n00bness outa me.

Can somebody help point me in the right direction here. I'm looking to host a small BF:V dedicated server and want to know where to start. I got the full 1.2 version and the 1.21 update. Running the server is pretty easy, but what maps, mods and other info are kewl/stable to run.
Also are there any pub forums, or a good site that can help me understand how to tweak my server and such for optimal performance. I've looked over a few, but there are sooo many sites that it's hard to tell which is "worthy" of it's info and which is just plain ol' BS. The forums at EA load extremely slow for me and that was my first choice.

LeHas should be able to help you with those server questions! If you have mirc he is always on there and I will PM you our ventrilo info so you can talk straight to him if you need to ok!

You can see who's on vent or irc at the top of our forums =)

WOW I bought the game yesterday and it's really fast paced! Pretty awesome at that! I caught myself engrossed in it for a few hours last night and next thing I know it's 1 am! LOL

I was very suprised to see how well a 56 player server played. Some Japan server was full and it was utter chaos. I'm still getting used to everything, but it seems easy enough. What servers do you usually play on Dev? I didn't notice or not, but is there some sorta buddy list thing in BF:V?

Get with me sometime and we'll kick some online butt together! hehe

Install xFire. http://www.xfire.com and then add whatever buddies you want. It will you can join them on whatever server they are on by clicking on the name.

I don't know if you all know about this, but I just found it while surfing around looking for a few good BFV sites. Use the below to skip all the intro stuff and go straight to the play screen.
